Plugline — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Plugline ("the app") is made by Samet Ateşen (Atesen Software), Türkiye ("we"). This policy describes what the app's code does. If the app changes, this policy changes with it.

What we collect: nothing

Plugline has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not run a server for this app, so nothing you do in the app reaches us.

What the app does on your network

Plugline talks to your smart plugs, switches and bulbs with their own local protocol (TCP port 9999) on your home network. It reads each device's name, model, hardware and firmware versions, hardware (MAC) address, whether it is on, its brightness, its status light setting and, for devices that measure power, its power, voltage, current and energy use. It sends only the changes you tap. These connections go only to addresses inside your home network; the app refuses public internet addresses and host names. The app talks to your devices only while it is open on your screen.

If you tap "Search my Wi-Fi", the app reads your iPhone's own address on the home network and asks every address of that network whether a device of this kind answers. If you type an address and nothing answers on the device port, the app checks only whether the address accepts a connection on the web port (port 80); nothing is sent to it.

Local Network permission

iOS asks you for Local Network permission the first time. Plugline needs it because iOS blocks apps from reaching devices on your home network without it, and your plugs are such devices. Without it the app cannot find or switch them. You can change it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.

Where your data lives

The app stores only these, on your iPhone, inside the app:

Readings (on or off, power, energy) are shown live and not kept. A name you give a device in Plugline is saved on the device itself, as with its maker's app. The app's data is part of your device's own iCloud or computer backup if you use one; that backup is handled by Apple, not by us.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple (StoreKit). We do not receive your name, e-mail address or payment details, and no personal data reaches us. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Deleting your data

Remove a device in Plugline: its saved details are deleted from your iPhone; the device itself is not changed. Deleting the app removes everything the app stored. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing to delete on our side.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
