Remoteline — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Remoteline ("the app") is made by Samet Ateşen (Atesen Software), Türkiye ("we"). This policy describes what the app's code does. If the app changes, this policy changes with it.

What we collect: nothing

Remoteline has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not run a server for this app, so nothing you do in the app reaches us.

What the app does on your network

Remoteline connects to your Logitech Harmony Hub on your home network: first a short HTTP request on port 8088 to learn the hub's identity, then the hub's local WebSocket connection on the same port. It reads the hub's activities and devices with their buttons and the activity that is running. It sends only the commands you tap: start an activity, power off, or a button press. These connections go only to addresses inside your home network; the app refuses public internet addresses and host names. The app talks to the hub only while it is open on your screen. The hub's local connection is the hub's own and is not encrypted, but it never leaves your Wi-Fi.

If you tap "Find my hub", the app reads your iPhone's own address on the home Wi-Fi and tries port 8088 on the addresses of that home network, keeping the ones that answer like a Harmony Hub.

Local Network permission

iOS asks you for Local Network permission the first time. Remoteline needs it because iOS blocks apps from reaching devices on your home network without it, and your hub is such a device. Without it the app cannot find or control the hub. You can change it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.

Where your data lives

The app stores only these, on your iPhone, inside the app:

The hub's activities and devices are read live and are not kept. This data is part of your device's own iCloud or computer backup if you use one; that backup is handled by Apple, not by us.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple (StoreKit). We do not receive your name, e-mail address or payment details, and no personal data reaches us. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Deleting your data

Remove a hub in Settings: its saved name, address and favourites are deleted from your iPhone; the hub itself is not changed. Deleting the app removes everything the app stored. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing to delete on our side.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
