Tankline ("the app") is made by Samet Ateşen (Atesen Software), Türkiye ("we"). This policy describes what the app's code does. If the app changes, this policy changes with it.
Tankline has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not run a server for this app, so nothing you do in the app reaches us.
Tankline connects to your water heater's Control-R Wi-Fi module on your home network (TCP port 9798, the module's local text connection). It reads the heater's status (temperature setting, water out and water in temperatures, whether the heater is heating or circulating, error and warning codes, and the module's identity information) and sends the commands you tap, such as starting or stopping recirculation or a new temperature setting. These connections go only to addresses inside your home network; the app refuses public internet addresses and host names. The module's local connection is the module's own and is not encrypted, but it never leaves your Wi-Fi. The app talks to the module only while it is open on your screen.
If you tap "Find my water heater", the app tries port 9798 on the addresses of your own home network (only when your iPhone is on a home Wi-Fi) and keeps the ones that answer like a Control-R module.
iOS asks you for Local Network permission the first time. Tankline needs it because iOS blocks apps from reaching devices on your home network without it, and your water heater's module is such a device. Without it the app cannot find or control the heater. You can change it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
The app stores only the name and network address of the water heaters you add, the circulation time you last chose (5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes) and whether Tankline Pro is unlocked, on your iPhone inside the app. The heater's readings are shown live and are not stored. This data is part of your device's own iCloud or computer backup if you use one; that backup is handled by Apple, not by us.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple (StoreKit). We do not receive your name, e-mail address or payment details, and no personal data reaches us. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Remove a water heater in Settings: its saved name and address are deleted from your iPhone, and the water heater itself is not changed. Deleting the app removes everything the app stored, including the circulation time and the Pro status cache. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing to delete on our side.
The app is not directed at children under 13.
