Your files

The two CSV files you choose are read and matched inside your browser. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else. Reports are built in your browser and saved by your browser when you download them.

What our server receives

• Page requests as with any web page. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes them.
• Anonymous counters. The page tells us when it was opened and when a comparison was run, and when the payment window was opened. We store a count per day. We store no identifier, no IP address and no file data, and we set no cookies.
• Optional: "Email me this result". Under a free result there is a box. It is optional and the result is shown without it. Only if you type your email address and press Send do we receive: your email address (stored in lower case), the time, four counts from the result (matched, only in bank, only in ledger, possible duplicates; we also keep the sum of the last two as the number of lines without a partner), the campaign tags of the link you came from (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) and the website you came from (its address only, no path), and the sentence shown next to the button. Never your CSV content: no rows, amounts, descriptions, dates, names or file names are ever sent, and the page code has no step that does so (you can check the Network tab).
• Licence checks. When you enter or restore a key, the page sends the key so we can check it. We keep, for each paid key, a one-way hash of it, the plan, the expiry date and the Paddle transaction and subscription numbers.

Email, why and how long

Why. To send you the result you asked for and at most 2 helpful emails about using Recondiff, for example a tip if you got stuck. Pressing Send is your consent; there is no other use and we do not sell or share the address. How long. We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and in any case no longer than 12 months after you sent it. Unsubscribe. Every email has an unsubscribe link and a List-Unsubscribe header; after you use it we send you nothing more and keep only a note that you left (your address and that date) so we do not write to you again by mistake. Deletion. Write to support@atesensoftware.com from that address and we delete the record. Who processes it. Cloudflare (hosting and the database where the record is kept) and, once email sending is switched on, Resend (sends the email). To limit abuse we keep a one-way hash of your network address for up to 2 hours; it cannot be read back as an address and is never linked to the email.

Payments

Paddle collects your payment details, name, email and billing address as seller and merchant of record under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your card details or email address.

In your browser

Your licence key, and the key made when you start a purchase, are kept in this browser's local storage so the report stays unlocked. Clearing site data removes them; keep a copy of your key.
