Your files

The Profit and Loss files you choose are read and added up inside your browser. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. The Excel file and the mapping file are built in your browser and saved by your browser when you download them.

What our server receives

• Page requests, as with any web page. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes them. Fonts and scripts of this page come from our own address, except Paddle's checkout script (see Payments).
• Anonymous counters. The page tells us when it was opened, when a consolidation was shown, when the payment window was opened and when an Excel file was downloaded (the words visit, use, checkout, dl). We store a count per day, with no identifier and no file data.
• Source cookie. A small script of our own site (ats-src.js) sets one first-party cookie, ats_src, for 90 days, shared by the atesensoftware.com sites. It holds only the campaign tags of the link you came from (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), the website you came from (its host name only) and the page you landed on. It holds no identifier and none of your files. It is not written if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. When you start a purchase, these values are added to the payment as source fields so we can see which page led to a sale.
• Licence checks. When you enter or restore a key, the page sends the key so we can check it. For each paid key we keep a one-way hash of it, the plan, the expiry date and the Paddle transaction number.
• Key recovery. Right after a payment the page sends the key, the payment reference and the e-mail address you typed in the payment window, so that a lost key can be replaced later. We keep only a one-way hash of the payment reference together with that e-mail address; the address itself is not stored by us. When you use "I lost my key" you type the reference and the address again and they are compared by hash. To limit abuse, recovery attempts are counted per one-way hash of your network address, for up to 2 hours.
• Example files. If you press "Try with 3 example files" the page loads three invented example files from our own address.

Payments

Paddle collects your payment details, name, e-mail and billing address as seller and merchant of record under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your card details. Paddle's checkout script is loaded from Paddle's servers when the page opens; this page never gives it your files. That script may load a further script from public.profitwell.com, a Paddle analytics service, and Paddle may set its own cookies. This page never gives either of them your files.

In your browser

Your licence key, the key made when you start a purchase, and the payment reference are kept in this browser's local storage so the download stays unlocked. A private or incognito window deletes them when it closes; clearing site data removes them too. Keep a copy of your key.
