Step-by-step guides for this job
What it does
TagBridge is a browser-based converter for engineers and system integrators moving a plant from AVEVA InTouch or GE iFIX to Inductive Automation Ignition. You drop in DBDump or iFIX Database Manager CSV files, review every tag and warning, map each AccessName or I/O driver to an Ignition device and item path, map legacy alarm priorities, and accept or reject UDT definitions proposed from repeated tag names. It exports Ignition 8.1 / 8.3 tag JSON (UDT definitions, tags, or both in one file) and a conversion report in HTML and CSV that lists every decision and everything it did not convert. The tag database is read and converted inside the browser tab; it is never uploaded.
Capabilities
InTouch and iFIX in
Reads InTouch DBDump CSV sections such as :IODisc, :IOReal and :MemoryInt, and iFIX Database Manager CSV exports. Columns are matched by name, encodings (UTF-8, UTF-16, Windows code pages) are detected, and unknown sections are skipped and listed.
Ignition tag JSON out
Folders, atomic tags with data types, OPC item paths from your mapping rules (Logix, Modbus, Siemens S7 or your own template), scaling with raw and engineering ranges, history flags and memory tags with initial values, in the Ignition 8.1 / 8.3 tag JSON format.
Alarms mapped, not guessed
HiHi, Hi, Lo and LoLo limits become AboveValue and BelowValue alarms with setpoints and deadbands; discrete alarms become Equality (8.1) or WhenTrue / WhenFalse (8.3) alarms. Legacy priority ranges map to Ignition priorities by rules you set.
UDTs you approve
Repeated names such as P101_RUN, P101_FLT and P102_RUN are proposed as UDT definitions with parameters and instances. Nothing becomes a UDT until you accept the proposal; rejected ones are exported as plain tags.
A report of every decision
The HTML and CSV report lists each tag, what it became and why, and every item that was not converted, such as indirect tags, rate-of-change alarms or PID blocks.
Stays on your computer
Parsing and conversion run in the browser; there is no upload endpoint for plant data. License keys are checked offline, and the project file you save holds only your mapping decisions, not the tags.

What we do not claim
- It has no customers, installations or reviews on this site yet.
- It converts the tag database only. Screens, scripts, indirect tags, rate-of-change alarms and iFIX logic blocks are not converted; they are listed in the report.
- The InTouch and iFIX column layouts it expects come from public documentation and sample files. Check a few alarms and scaled tags on a test gateway before commissioning, as with any bulk import.
- iFIX GDB text exports are not supported; export CSV from Database Manager instead.
- AVEVA, InTouch and Wonderware are trademarks of AVEVA Group Limited or its subsidiaries; GE and iFIX are trademarks of their respective owners; Ignition is a trademark of Inductive Automation, LLC. TagBridge is an independent product by Atesen Software and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by these companies.
