What it does
Tidyroll is a web application for law firms whose Clio Manage contact list has filled up with duplicates over the years. A free scan checks every contact by email, normalised phone number, names with nicknames and initials, company names without LLC or Inc, and addresses, and groups likely duplicates with the reason for each match. You pick the record to keep and the value of each field, read a plan of every matter, note and document that would move, and type a confirmation such as MERGE 12. Nothing is deleted: the duplicate stays with a note saying where everything went, every change is journaled and read back from Clio, and a merge or a whole run can be undone for 30 days. Merges are blocked when the duplicate has bills, trust or bank transactions, balances, Clio Payments or client portal access.

A free scan with reasons
Every contact is compared by email, phone in international format, names with nicknames and initials, company names without legal suffixes, and addresses. Each group of likely duplicates shows the evidence, and shared office lines or info@ mailboxes count as weak evidence only.
You choose, then confirm
Nothing merges automatically. You pick the surviving record and the value for each field, read a preview of every matter, relationship, note and document that moves, and type a confirmation such as MERGE 12.
Nothing deleted, 30-day undo
The duplicate is kept unchanged with a note explaining what moved. Every change is journaled with its old value and read back from Clio, so a single merge or a whole run can be undone for 30 days.
Blocked when it is not safe
A merge stops when the duplicate has bills, trust or bank transactions, credit memos, Clio Payments, a balance, client portal or co-counsel access, or any check that cannot be completed. Different first names, Sr./Jr. or dates of birth stop a match even at the same address.
Bulk edit with a preview
Fix contact fields across many records at once, with the same preview, typed confirmation and undo as merges.
Short-lived, encrypted data
Sign-in is through Clio and tokens are encrypted. Contact snapshots and duplicate groups are encrypted and deleted 7 days after a scan, the change journal 30 days after a job, and logs hold ids and counts only.
