What it does
Payslip Drop is a web application for HR and payroll staff whose payroll run arrives as one long PDF. It reads the employee number printed on every page, groups the pages into one document per person and names each file the way you choose, all inside the browser tab: the PDF is not uploaded anywhere to be split. Only an exact employee number assigns a page automatically; matches by name, numbers with extra zeros, summary pages and scanned pages wait in a review list until you decide. The result downloads as a ZIP with a manifest, free and without an account. On a paid plan it uploads each file to the right employee in a supported HR system, with a dry run, hidden-until-shared files and an undo.
Capabilities
Split in the browser
The text of every page is read on your computer with pdf.js, and the payslips are cut with pdf-lib in the same tab. Splitting and matching never send the PDF anywhere, and the tab forgets the files when it closes.
Matched by employee number
The number is found after a label such as "Employee ID:" or with your own pattern. Only an exact number is assigned automatically; matches by name, numbers printed with extra zeros, summary pages and pages without a text layer wait for your decision.
Your file names
Name every payslip from a pattern such as {employeeNumber}_{lastName}_{period}.pdf. The ZIP carries a manifest of employee, pages and file name.
Profiles for next month
The label before the number, the file name pattern and the folder are saved as a profile per payroll type, so next month's run starts from the same settings.
Careful delivery
Direct upload is designed around wrong-person mistakes: a dry run lists who gets which file, runs above ten employees need a typed confirmation, files arrive hidden until you share them, and a whole run can be undone.
Nothing stored
Uploads pass through the server as a stream and are never written to disk, a database or logs. Logs hold ids and counts, never names, file names or document content.
