Xero find duplicate transactions

Run the Duplicate Statement Lines report for the bank account. It compares the date and amounts of the statement lines in that account and flags the ones that look like duplicates.

Steps

  1. Check the balances. If the statement balance in Xero differs from your actual bank balance, duplicate statement lines may have been imported.
  2. Run the Duplicate Statement Lines report for that bank account.
  3. Run the Statement Exceptions report in the Bank Reconciliation report pack. It shows every line Xero flagged as a potential duplicate, and whether it was deleted.
  4. Compare each flagged pair with your bank's own statement.
  5. Delete one line of each true pair: how to delete duplicate transactions in Xero.
Limits. The report works on one bank account's statement lines. It does not show partial matches, or duplicates Xero already deleted at import. It does not compare Xero with a file from your bank.
