Requirements

• Chrome 137 or newer, or another Chromium-based browser of the same version such as Edge, Brave or Opera. License keys are checked with the browser's own cryptography, which older versions lack.
• Install it from its Chrome Web Store page with Add to Chrome.
• A Workable account and an API access token with the r_jobs and r_candidates scopes.

Creating the token

• An account admin opens Workable, the menu at the top right, then Integrations, then Generate new token.
• Tick r_jobs and r_candidates. Read-only scopes are enough; the extension never changes anything in Workable.
• Choose an expiry, generate the token and copy it straight away: Workable shows it only once.

Exporting

• Click the extension's toolbar button. The export page opens in a tab.
• Enter your account (yourcompany for yourcompany.workable.com) and the token, then Connect.
• If Workable keeps resume files at an address outside workable.com, the page names it and asks you to allow downloads from it. The browser shows its own prompt.
• Choose a job and its stages, then Preview. The list shows each candidate in the order they will be saved and the file name each resume gets.
• Press Export. Keep the tab open until it says Done; the ZIP then downloads by itself.

The unlimited plan and its license key

• The free plan saves the first 10 resumes of each export, with no account and no key.
• The unlimited plan is a subscription of $19 a month or $190 a year, bought on https://resume-downloader.atesensoftware.com, where Paddle, the reseller, runs the checkout. The license key arrives by e-mail within a few minutes.
• In the extension, choose Enter license key at the top of the page, paste the whole key (it starts with WBR1.) and press Activate. The key is checked inside the browser.
• While the export page is open and the key is still valid, the extension shows the key to the license server at most once a day, and once more before an export if that day has passed. After the key has expired, it asks about once an hour. A check that fails does not ask again sooner: a valid key keeps working until its own expiry. Each key is valid for about five weeks and is renewed by itself while the subscription is paid; after a cancellation, a refund or a chargeback it is not renewed and stops working, and pasting it again does not bring it back. If the extension cannot reach the license server for that long, the unlimited plan pauses until it can.
• To cancel, change the plan or update the card, use the link in the Paddle receipt e-mail. A refund cancels the subscription at once. A lost key can be sent again from the support page of the license site.

Under File names and options: the naming pattern, whether to include disqualified and withdrawn candidates (left out by default), whether to save cover letters as text files, and the CSV separator.

Time it takes

Each candidate needs one request to Workable, and Workable allows about one a second, so 100 candidates take about two minutes and 500 about nine. If Workable serves resume files from workable.com itself, each file is a second request and the time doubles. The page shows the time left.

When something fails

• A candidate whose resume could not be downloaded is listed under What went wrong, and in index.csv with the reason. Try the failed ones again exports just those.
• If Workable stops accepting the token (expired or revoked), the export stops and keeps what was saved. Create a new token and connect again.
• If three resumes in a row cannot be downloaded from Workable's file address, the export pauses so you can check your connection, rather than produce an empty ZIP.
• Phone numbers that start with + appear with a leading apostrophe in index.csv. This stops spreadsheets from reading them as formulas.
