Sheet Namer documentation

Documentation for Sheet Namer, the Figma Buzz plugin. It describes version 1.1. The plugin cannot be installed from Figma Community today; these instructions describe the planned release.

Requirements

  • A Figma Buzz file with assets made by Bulk Create. The plugin opens only in Figma Buzz.
  • The data you used for Bulk Create as a CSV or TSV file, or rows copied from a spreadsheet. Without a table, patterns can still use the text on each asset and built-in tokens.

Rename and export

  • Open the plugin from the Actions or Plugins menu of your Buzz file. It loads every asset of the grid, or only the selected ones.
  • Paste your rows or load the CSV, then press Use this data. Section 3 shows how many assets matched their row by content; fix ambiguous or unmatched ones there, or switch to order matching if you are sure the order is the same.
  • Write the pattern in section 4. Click a column chip to insert it. {product|slug}_{lang}_{#type} gives names such as sommer-sale_de-DE_story; a slash makes a folder.
  • Check the preview, then press Rename. Undo with Ctrl+Z or Revert last rename.
  • Pick PNG, JPG or PDF and a scale, then Export ZIP. The ZIP holds one file per asset and _manifest.csv.

Free plan and Pro

The free plan previews every name and renames or exports 10 different assets per rolling 24 hours; an asset counts once however often you rename or export it. Pro removes the limit.

After the plugin is listed and Pro checkout opens: to activate Pro, press Unlock Pro in the plugin, paste the key from your e-mail (it starts with SN1.) and press Activate. The key is checked inside the plugin, works offline and is stored on your computer, so enter it once on each computer you use.
