What it does
Seat Saver is an application for Freshdesk administrators. It lists every agent with licence type and last sign-in, marks the full-time seats nobody has used for the number of days you choose, and shows what they cost at your own seat price. Before anything changes, a preview checks each selected seat for open tickets, recently updated tickets and automation rules that name the agent. You then convert the seats to occasional, or deactivate them after their open tickets have moved to a group or another agent. Dry run is on after installation, every live change needs a typed phrase and the administrator's own API key, and every change can be undone from History.
Capabilities
Unused seats and what they cost
Last sign-in and recorded activity for every agent, the full-time seats unused for your threshold (default 30 days), seats that never signed in, and the monthly and yearly saving at the seat price you enter. Roles and groups are shown for the seats that could be changed.
Convert or deactivate, with offboarding
Convert unused full-time seats to occasional, or deactivate them. Before a seat is deactivated its open tickets move to the group or agent you choose; if any ticket cannot be moved, that seat is not deactivated. Closed tickets keep their history.
Safe to start
Dry run is on after installation. A preview shows open tickets, recently updated tickets and automation rules for each seat. Live changes need a typed phrase such as APPLY 3 and your own Freshdesk API key, so Freshdesk checks your permission and its audit log shows you. Account administrators, the person using the app and the owner of the app's API key are never changed; admin roles and a list of people are protected by default, and people who signed in during the last 7 days are not changed.
Undo and a weekly digest
Every change is written to an undo log before it is made and read back afterwards. From History, one run can be undone: back to full-time, or the person made an agent again with the saved roles, groups, skills and ticket scope, and tickets moved back unless someone changed them since. A kill switch stops all changes. An optional weekly digest emails your admins the unused seats.
Questions
Where does Seat Saver run?
The application runs inside Freshdesk on the Freshworks Developer Platform: its admin page runs in the administrator's browser, and its changes and weekly digest run on Freshworks-hosted serverless infrastructure. Atesen Software does not operate a server or a database for it and never receives your data.
How do I get help with Seat Saver?
Support for Seat Saver is provided by email in English and Turkish.

What we do not claim
- It is under review by Freshworks Marketplace, not approved, listed or publicly installable. Public installation, customer and review counts are not verified.
- It does not change your Freshdesk plan. On a monthly plan you lower the agent count in Plans & Billing after freeing seats; on an annual plan the count usually drops at renewal, and a freed seat can go to a new hire meanwhile.
- When a deactivated person is made an agent again, Freshdesk may send them its usual email. The application sends no email except the optional weekly digest.
- It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Freshworks.
- It holds no security certification and has not undergone a third-party audit.
