What it does
PackGap is for brands selling packaged goods in California, Colorado and Oregon. It checks your SKU file for missing weights, unit errors, conflicting materials, invalid categories and state gaps before you report under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws. Your file stays in your browser and is never uploaded.
Capabilities
A component file in
One CSV with one row per SKU and component: weight, unit, material, category. An optional sales-by-state CSV (SKU, state, units) adds the state coverage check. A component template, a sales template and a sample file are on the page.
Every problem at once
A list of every problem, each with the SKU, the component, the row in your file and what to do about it. Weights and categories matter because CAA's schedules charge per pound by reporting category.
37 fixed checks, each with a source
Six groups of fixed rules, so the same file always gives the same result. Every check names its source and date; the sources were opened on November 7, 2026.

- It only checks a file. It does not map your obligations, estimate fees or sign off a filing.
- Minnesota, Maryland, Washington and Maine have packaging laws too; PackGap accepts those state codes but holds no category list for them, so it does not check categories there.
