What it does

Atesen Customer Import for Jira Service Management is an Atlassian Forge app for Jira Service Management Cloud administrators. Upload a UTF-8 CSV with an email column and, optionally, a name and an organizations column. The app creates the customers that do not exist yet, creates missing organizations if you allow it, adds each customer to their organizations and adds customers and organizations to the service spaces you tick. A preview shows invalid and duplicate emails with row numbers before anything is written, and every processed row gets a result you can download as a CSV. The app was previously named Customer & Organization Import.

Capabilities

One CSV for customers and organizations

Upload a plain-text UTF-8 CSV with a header row, comma or semicolon separated, with up to 10,000 data rows per job. Map the email column and, if you want them, a name column and an organizations column. Several organizations in one cell are separated with ; or |.

Missing organizations created, customers linked

Organization names are matched ignoring case, leading and trailing spaces and repeated internal whitespace. Organizations that do not exist yet are created while the option is on, which is the default; turn it off to use only the organizations you already have. Each customer is added to the organizations on their row.

Service spaces you choose

Tick the service spaces that should receive the customers, and the mapped organizations are added to them as well. Jira controls which spaces the signed-in administrator can see. With no space ticked, customers and organizations are still processed but no service-space access is added.

Preview before anything is written

Preview shows the valid rows, empty and invalid emails, duplicates in the file, existing organizations that matched and organizations to create. It does not create customers or organizations. Download the errors CSV, fix your file and upload it again.

A result for every processed row

Download a results CSV with the status of each row: created, existing, partly done, failed or retryable, with an error code and message where something went wrong. Existing customer accounts are reused, and their requested memberships and service-space access are still added.

Runs in the background, pause and resume

Start the import, close the tab and come back to History. Pause a running job and resume a paused or stalled one. When Jira rate limits or a temporary error slow a job, it waits and can be resumed without starting an overlapping import.

Admin page on Atlassian Forge

The app opens from Jira Settings, Apps, and needs the Jira Administrators global permission. Import jobs run with the permissions of the administrator who starts or resumes them. The app runs on Atlassian Forge and makes no external network calls.

Limits and what we do not claim

  • It works with Jira Service Management customers and organizations only. It does not manage Customer Service Management (CSM) profiles, Jira issues, tickets, assets or attachments.
  • It adds customers and memberships. It has no undo, does not delete customers or organizations, does not remove existing memberships and does not merge duplicate organizations.
  • It does not send invitation emails. Notifications and automations on your site stay subject to your own Jira configuration.
  • It is not a bulk rename tool: a name in the CSV is used for new customers, not to change existing accounts.
  • A job holds at most 10,000 data rows. Excel workbooks (.xlsx), legacy encodings and tab-separated input are not supported; export to a UTF-8 comma or semicolon separated CSV.
  • Jira rate limits and temporary service failures can slow or pause an import, and no completion time is guaranteed.
  • A finished job can still contain failed or incomplete rows. Check the results CSV instead of relying on the Done label.
  • It has no installation count, customer list or review history on this site; see the Marketplace listing for what Atlassian shows.
