Auto BCC Rules privacy
This section describes how Auto BCC Rules handles data, last updated 23 October 2026. It supplements the site-wide privacy policy.
Where the extension runs
Entirely in your browser, on Gmail (mail.google.com). Atesen Software receives nothing from it.
What it reads
In the message you are writing: the sender, the To, Cc and Bcc addresses, the subject, and whether it is a new message or a reply, to decide which rules apply. It does not read message bodies or your mailbox.
What it stores
- Your rules, your organisation domains and the on or off switch, in the browser's sync storage. If browser sync is on, the browser syncs them to your other devices.
- A count of the addresses added this month, in the browser's local storage on this computer.
What it sends
Nothing from your mail or your rules. It makes no network requests, has no analytics and loads no remote code. The addresses it adds receive your message through Gmail, exactly as if you had typed them. The Copy buttons put addresses or the policy text on your clipboard only when you press them.
A future paid version may add a licence check; this page will be updated before it ships.
Permissions it asks for
- Storage: for your rules, the switch, the monthly count and the rules an administrator sets. Rules an administrator sets through browser policy are read from managed storage.
- Access to mail.google.com: to read the compose window and add addresses.
