Text sent to your chosen AI provider

When you press the generate button, the plugin sends one request directly from Figma to the provider you selected in the plugin. It can send it to exactly three providers:

• OpenAI (api.openai.com)
• Anthropic (api.anthropic.com)
• Google Gemini (generativelanguage.googleapis.com)

Only the provider you selected for that request receives it. The request contains the text of the visible, unlocked text layers inside your current selection (up to 50 layers, 4,000 characters per layer and 20,000 characters in total), the internal Figma ID of each text layer so replies can be matched back, the task, tone, target language and length limit you chose, the optional product context you typed (up to 1,000 characters), and the model ID you entered. Layer names, the rest of your file, images and other frames are not included.

The plugin manifest lists only these three domains as network access. It makes no other network request. Requests are sent without cookies, without a referrer, and the plugin does not follow redirects or retry automatically.

Your API key stays on your device

The plugin asks for your own API key for the provider you use. The key is saved on your device in Figma's plugin client storage, one entry per provider, so you do not have to paste it every time. It stays there until you press the button that forgets the key. It is never written into your design or your file.

When you generate suggestions, the key is passed to the plugin window and sent to the selected provider as the authentication header of that one request. It is not sent anywhere else and is not sent to Atesen Software. Figma operates the application and its storage under its own privacy policy; this policy describes the plugin's behavior.

What Atesen Software receives

Nothing. The plugin has no developer server, no analytics, no telemetry, no account system and no license or update check that contacts us. We cannot see your text, your suggestions, your API key, your provider or how often you use the plugin.

The optional Pro license, if you ever enter one, is stored in the same client storage and checked offline inside the plugin. Pro is a separate one-time license key (USD 24, excluding VAT or sales tax) sold through Paddle on ux-copy.atesensoftware.com. Checkout there opens when the plugin is available on Figma Community. The Buy Pro button in the plugin only opens that page in your browser: the plugin itself makes no network request of its own to buy or check a license (its only requests go to the AI provider you choose), and a pasted key is verified offline. The sales site has its own privacy notice.

What your provider does with the text

Once a request reaches OpenAI, Anthropic or Google, their terms, data retention rules and privacy policies apply, and you are their customer, not us. Check your provider's current policy about API data use and retention before sending confidential copy. API usage is charged to your own provider account; a ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini app subscription does not necessarily include API usage. Do not select text that you are not allowed to share with your provider.

Applying and undoing changes

Suggestions are shown for your review. When you apply one, the plugin replaces the characters of the selected text layer in your Figma file. The plugin's own undo information is kept in memory only while the plugin is open and is not stored anywhere. Use Figma's native Undo to restore formatting.

Support and privacy requests

If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send and use them to answer you. Do not send API keys, license keys, private Figma files or confidential copy. For a privacy or deletion request concerning a support message, contact support@atesensoftware.com.
