Attachment Bundler vs QuickBooks Online's built-in attachment export
QuickBooks Online can export attachments in bulk from its Attachments list: you tick the files and choose Export. It does not describe picking files by their transactions. Attachment Bundler filters by transaction, names each file after its transaction and adds an index. Intuit's side is taken from its help articles; facts below were read on 5 November 2026.
Side by side
| QuickBooks Online (built in) | Attachment Bundler | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pick files | Tick checkboxes in the Attachments list, then Batch actions > Export | Filter by transaction date, type, vendor or customer, account and amount |
| Filtering by transaction | Intuit's articles do not describe filtering the list by transaction date, vendor, account or amount | Yes, for bills, expenses, invoices, sales receipts and journal entries |
| Counts before you download | Not described | Transactions, files and megabytes that match, and how many matching transactions have no attachment |
| File names | Intuit's articles do not describe naming exported files after their transactions | Named after the transaction, for example date, name, amount and number, sorted into folders |
| Index | None described; the Export data tool saves reports and lists as Excel files, and attachments are a separate step | CSV and Excel index of every file, plus the matching transactions with no attachment |
| Setup and permissions | Inside QuickBooks, no extra sign-in | Sign in with Intuit; read requests only, but Intuit offers no read-only permission, so it asks for its single accounting permission. Not listed in Intuit's app store and not certified by Intuit |
| Price | Included in QuickBooks Online | Previews free; first 25 files per company free; $19 a month, or a $29 Year-end Pass for 30 days |
Which one fits
- You know which files you want, or need a few: the built-in Attachments list is quick and free.
- The request is a set of transactions (every bill and expense receipt for last year, one vendor, an amount range) and the auditor wants files they can follow: a filtered, named export with an index saves the manual matching, and it shows which transactions have no receipt.
Attachment Bundler only reads from QuickBooks Online, never changes your books and is not a backup service. Vendor credits, bill payments, deposits, estimates and purchase orders are not included, and QuickBooks Desktop is not supported. The full walk-through is in our guide to downloading all attachments from QuickBooks Online.
